Skills Tasmania manages and administers Tasmania’s vocational education and training (VET) system. They play a critical role in building the capacity of the workforce by assisting learners to access training and supporting businesses and industries through workforce development and funding programs.

They oversee the Tasmanian traineeship and apprenticeship system, providing access to training funding through endorsed Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and Group Training Organisations (GTOs).

Skills Tasmania also implements targeted programs to help individuals overcome barriers to employment and become work ready.
