The National Institute of First Aid Trainers (NIFAT) is an independent professional development community dedicated to supporting the people who teach first aid.

Every day, thousands of first aid trainers help Australians develop the confidence and skills to respond in an emergency. Behind every quality course is a knowledgeable, engaged and well-supported trainer. NIFAT exists to support those trainers.

Through evidence-based education, practical professional development and a collaborative national community, NIFAT helps first aid trainers stay informed, connected and confident in an industry that continues to evolve.

Our members have access to live webinars, a growing library of on-demand learning, our national conference, held every two years, clinical updates, teaching resources and opportunities to learn from leading experts across healthcare, education and emergency response. Every resource is designed with one goal in mind: helping trainers deliver high-quality, evidence-based first aid education.

Just as importantly, NIFAT provides a place for trainers to connect with others who share the same passion for improving first aid education. By bringing together educators from across Australia, we encourage the sharing of ideas, practical experiences and evidence that benefits not only individual trainers, but the broader first aid training community.
