Australian Qualification Framework

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a national policy for regulated qualifications in the Australian education and training system.

Organisation Overview

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in the Australian education and training system.

It integrates the qualifications from each education and training sector into a single comprehensive national qualifications framework.

The AQF encompasses schools, vocational education and training (VET), and higher education, ensuring that qualifications are standardised and nationally recognised.

The AQF includes ten levels, each representing different levels of knowledge, skills, and application of learning, ranging from Certificate I to Doctoral degrees.

The AQF aims to support lifelong learning, provide clear learning pathways, and facilitate the recognition of qualifications and skills across Australia and internationally.

The management of the AQF is delivered through the Australian Government Department of Education in consultation with the states and territories.
