Blueprint Career Development

Beautifully practical training that lifts confidence, sparks possibility, and helps students of all abilities step boldly into their future.

Organisation Overview

Blueprint Career Development began not in a boardroom, but with two very determined suitcases.

Our founder, Donna, a full-time school teacher, packed every plate, cup, workbook and piece of hospitality equipment she owned into those suitcases and travelled from school to school, community group to community group — delivering practical training anywhere she could find a table. Her young daughter coloured in beside her, often perched on a milk crate. That’s the spirit Blueprint was built on: heart, hustle and a belief that every learner deserves a chance.

Those humble beginnings have grown into one of Queensland’s most trusted and innovative RTOs, now supporting over 5,000 students every year — from high schools to Defence, from corporate groups to adult learners seeking a new direction.

We’re still a local small business, proudly Queensland-owned, with a team of around 50 staff who share the same core belief:

Mindset comes before skill set.
When learners feel confident, supported and safe, the skills follow naturally.

What We Do (and Do Well)

Blueprint delivers high-quality, practical training across:

  • Hospitality

  • Sport & Recreation

  • Business

  • Volunteering

  • Work Skills

  • TAE

  • Personal Empowerment and Wellbeing programs

We specialise in inclusive education, proudly delivering Certificate I programs across special schools, with adapted, engaging, confidence-building training that meets students exactly where they are.

Immersive Learning Environments

To make learning real (and fun), we’ve created practical environments including:

  • Blueys Café – hospitality in action

  • GreenThumbs – volunteering & community projects

  • Sport Stars – sport & coaching pathways

These aren’t simulations for the sake of it — they give students the chance to practise life skills, build confidence, and develop real capability in environments that feel safe and familiar.

A Huge Leap Forward

In 2017, Blueprint became the first RTO in Australia approved to deliver the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

This milestone catapulted us from 300 students to 3,000 in just 12 months, and we’ve continued growing since. Today, our TAE programs support teachers, trainers, RTOs, schools and industry groups across the country — without losing our small-business warmth.

Why Organisations Love Working With Us

  • We are practical, approachable and solutions-focused.

  • We genuinely care about learners who need additional support.

  • We specialise in creating accessible pathways that build confidence.

  • We work closely with schools, families, employers and community groups.

  • And we add a little lightness, humour and humanity to everything we do.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to continue supporting inclusive education and sport. With our experience in supported learning and coaching programs, we are ready to help students of all abilities shine — both in the classroom and on the field.

Blueprint may have started with two suitcases, but today we carry something far more valuable:
a commitment to helping every learner find their confidence, their capability, and their future.
